Ski Trips

We offer three types of ski trips.

Flash trips are one-day trips that any member can plan with short notice.

Midwestern trips go to resorts in Wisconsin or Michigan and average two to three days in length.

Western trips are week-long trips to mountain resorts in the western United States and Canada.

Flash Ski Trips

Good snow conditions in Wisconsin allow for last minute, day-long ski excursions.A FLASH event is a last minute,spur-of-the-moment, do-it-yourself outing.  

Unlike Club 50 SCHEDULED events, where all members get an e-mail with details well in advance of the event, a FLASH event is spontaneous.  Anyone can pick a day, time and location for a FLASH event and notify the members on the appropriate list who expressed interest in being notified. If you’d like to check us out on one of these trips, contact us at Club50Flash@yahoo.com

2025 Midwestern Day Trip

Club 50 typically hosts one or two Midwestern Trips.

SNOW RIVER MI

Club 50 is planning a Midwestern ski trip to Snow River MI.  The trip to SnowRiver, MI is still in the planning stages but the dates are scheduled to be during the week of March 9, 2025.  This is a "local" trip of 3 to 4 days. Information, trip flyer and application, etc. will be available here and on the Calendar as the dates are firmed up.









   
 

2024 Week-long Western Ski Trips

Chicagoland Club 50 arranges week-long, fun-filled adventure trips
each year. Usually this includes trips to popular resorts in the American 
Rockies and Canada.

For 2024, the Club is going to the ski resort at Snowmass, CO
and joining CMSC on the Chicago Week trip to Jackson Hole, WY  
Members individually will also join CMSC for Spring Fling at Steamboat, CO.

CMSC Spring Fling – Steamboat, CO

CMSC Spring Fling is not a Chicagoland Club 50 trip.  Rather, individual members sign up directly with CMSC and not Chicagoland Club 50.  But typically, several members of Chicagoland Club 50 participate.  In years past, it's been great fun for the last ski trip of the season.

Size and Pricing:

Trips are planned for 20 to 40 people depending on the locale. Pricing is reasonable. From our years of experience, we’ve learned how to arrange excellent deals on accommodations, lift tickets and airfare that suit our members. Nightly pre-dinner wine and cheese parties are included in the package.


Trip Applications:

Flyers with all the trip details are mailed to members in summer, then posted on the website where they can be downloaded and printed. Trip applications and deposit checks are mailed to the trip director.


Air Transportation:

Some of our trips include round trip airfare from Chicago. If you are not flying from Chicago with the group, the cost of airfare will be subtracted from the total. You can use frequent flyer miles for your ticket if you wish. If ground transportation is needed, you can join the group at the airport and take the chartered bus.


Accommodations:

Either hotel rooms for two people or condos for four to six people are offered. You may request a roommate, or we will assign one.


Signup:

All trips are subject to the club trip sign-up policy (below). Please read it carefully before sending in your application. And don’t delay. Our ski trips fill up VERY quickly. See the Home Page for dates and links to the trip flyers or look at the Events list on the Home Page.

Sign-Up Policy:


If you’re not a member and interested in going on one of our trips, you can join the club and send in your trip application at the same time.  A deposit is not required to be on a trip waiting list.


If you are a smoker, we ask that you arrange for your own roommate (must be a club member) on a ski trip or pay the cost of a private room if available. Please be aware that most places where we stay do not allow smoking in their establishments.
